For his Church, God has no need of the great. He needs the small, and those who understand his call make themselves small and become friends of the small...
Only a Church that knows how to turn to God in supplication will be able to hear his call. Only if we raise up our prayers to God, will we feel that God has something to tell us, and we will receive whatever God has to give us...
A vocation develops, in fact, only when it finds unity and mutual love. All too often there is no network of love, of communion, of genuine sharing where a person can find the Lord at the centre, and himself in his right place beside the Lord and in the whole scheme of things.
Wherever the network is loose and weak, those it would like to hold pass through it. We need a closely-connected network of those who believe in God’s call, so that the call is received and lived.
