It is with his passion on the cross and his cry of abandonment that Jesus united men and women to himself and to one another. That is where he took upon himself every sin, every pain and disunity, and overcame them... Despite the enormous distance he felt between him and the Father in that moment, he said, “Into your hands I commend my spirit.”...
And so, every time that we encounter a suffering similar to his, we must not stop and remain in the trauma, but go beyond it with love...
First we must go deep inside our heart and tell Jesus Forsaken, “You are my only treasure.”
Then we must throw ourselves into doing what God wants in the following moment, by loving the people right in front of us, for example...
We must certainly not look inwards at our personal pain. All the sufferings of the world belong to us, because we are Christians, we are followers of Christ.
