12 February - Like the strings of a zither

More than anyone else (the bishop) has the grace to understand the needs of the local Church, the place where he is the foundation and the pastor.
By loving his own bishop in a sincere way, becoming completely one with him, and making an offering of himself in readiness and obedience, like Jesus with his Father, the priest will understand how to exercise his ministry better, and how to take on the needs of the diocese together with his bishop...
How good it would be to hear the words of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, in praise of the Ephesians, said about priests: “Your priestly brotherhood, rightly famous, and worthy of God, is harmoniously united with the bishop like the strings on a zither,”
